Student Access
Do a university professor have access to student records?
Do they have the power to check the student PGA, course schedules before, and past teachers, he / she had?
Most university computer systems are established with adequate access to student information. Super-users (as the President, Vice-Presidents, and some administrators) and can see all these posts down, access becomes more restricted. In the private schools where I worked, department heads have access to student records in their department, teachers who are also counselors have access to information on students they counsel and advise teachers can not access information on students currently enrollled a course s / he teaches. If I do not fall into a these categories and have no legitimate reason to review your academic record and just want to Snoop, I have no official access to it. The truth is, most teachers are just too darn busy to randomly snoop in the files of students. So – to my school and many others, I am aware of – if a teacher has responsibilities including the review of student records – or – has a legitimate reason to consult your application, they can do but no, most teachers do not have unlimited access to the computer to student records database. BTW: paper hard copy files are kept in the office of the Registrar General with duplicates in the key ministries of the student. Same rules are generally to access, but the faculty may have greater flexibility in access to student information in their department files. This often depends on how restrictive the policy is determined by the dean (or his assistant administrative support).
